Autumn 2026 Interns
For autumn 2026, ICT4COP welcomes 6 new interns. Read below to learn more about them! They will help with the police in conflict course, update our communications channels, along with other responsibilities. We wish them a great semester here!
Hi there!
My name is Sophia Sourbes, and I am a master’s student in International Relations at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). I have a Norwegian and French background and grew up in Greece before moving to the United Kingdom for my studies and later to Norway. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Criminology with Psychology and a master’s degree in Criminal Psychology and Intelligence from the University of Portsmouth.
My previous research has explored the development of criminal behaviour, as well as mental health and rehabilitation in British and Greek prisons. I find the ICT4COP internship particularly interesting because it connects this background with my current studies and my interest in how police can support communities affected by conflict. It also aligns with my personal interest in trauma-informed policing, particularly when working with young people. I am excited to learn from the team, bring my own perspective and contribute to this meaningful work.
My name is Farida Khan, and I am pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies with Arabic from the University of Oslo and work part-time at a crisis centre. My academic and professional interests include human security, community engagement, and cooperation between public institutions and civil society. I look forward to my internship at ICT4COP- center and learn more.
Hi, it’s Ömer.
I study International Security. I’m an intern at ICT4COP, here through an Erasmus agreement with the Turkish National Police Academy (TNPA). During my internship I’m helping with literature work in policing and preparing materials.
My name is Thoko Sphiwe Yassin and I am from Malawi. I am a Master’s student in International Relations at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), with a background in Political Science and experience in public administration, research and community engagement. I am passionate about understanding how conflict, security and international policies shape people’s everyday lives, particularly those of vulnerable communities. Having studied and worked in Malawi and continued my academic journey in Norway, I have developed a strong interest in human rights, peacebuilding and the long-term consequences of conflict. As a Fall 2026 intern, I look forward to bringing my experiences, curiosity and perspectives to the team while learning from others working to address complex global challenges. I am especially interested in understanding how research and policy can translate into meaningful change for communities affected by conflict.
Hi, I’m Dina, and I’m from Palestine. I moved to Norway in 2025 to pursue a Master’s degree in Global Development Studies at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Urban Planning and Design and have experience in community engagement and humanitarian work through Première Urgence Internationale (PUI). I’m interested in being part of ICT4COP because I want to explore how institutions and communities can work together, particularly in conflict and crisis settings. I’m also interested in how my background in urban planning and development can contribute to more community-centred approaches in humanitarian work.
Hi! My name is Håkon, and I am currently doing a Master’s degree in International Relations at NMBU. Before that I did a bachelor’s degree in Development studies at OsloMet.
My background in Development studies has shown me the importance in looking at local communities and their experiences. My current masters programme allows me to connect this knowledge and interest to national and international contexts.
I applied for this internship because I wanted to use the knowledge I’ve built up through my studies into practice. I also want experience that I can use after I finish my degree. I am excited and motivated for a semester working with ICT4COP!
